Fred Albert Faust, Jr., 96, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at his home. He was born March 19, 1925 in Helena to the late Mr. Fred Albert Faust, Sr., and Mrs. Alma Ewart Faust.

Fred graduated from Woodruff High School, served in the Coast Guard from 1943 to 1946, and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1949.

He married Ann Evans of Tremont, Ms in 1950 and was her faithful and loving companion for 70 years. His life's work was operating Faust Band Sawmill, along with his father, brother, and son.

He was a life-long outdoorsman, enjoying fly fishing, turkey hunting, gardening, and the hundreds of jonquil plants that graced his front yard. He loved telling stories and marked every momentous occasion with his charming and witty poetry. He enjoyed watching sports and attending Ole Miss basketball games. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Helena. He served the church through committee membership, faithful attendance, and hosting Sunday School parties in his home.

He was a devoted family man. He enjoyed trips with his family, fishing with his grandchildren, and attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals and musicals throughout the years. He is survived by his wife, and their three children, Al Faust (Ann) of Marvell, Arkansas, Jill Harrison (Bobby) of Madison, Mississippi and Susan Lorimer (Robert) of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren, Drew Harrison (Brittany), Katherine Smith (Kyle), Will Graddy, Joshua Harrison, Jake Lorimer and Andy Lorimer; two great grandchildren, Houston Stackhouse IV and Ellie Smith; sister, Laura Faust Deitz of West Helena, Arkansas; a host of other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom Faust.

A funeral service for Mr. Faust will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Helena, Arkansas. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church as well. Interment to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Rev. Deborah Head will officiate.

Pallbearers are Robert Lorimer, Jake Lorimer, Andy Lorimer, Bobby Harrison, Drew Harrison, Will Graddy, and Joshua Harrison.
