Brett Thomas Curtis

of Flippin, AR

April 5, 2021

Brett Curtis passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 5th, at the age of 36. Thirty-six years wasn't nearly long enough time for those that knew and loved him.

Brett was an avid hunter and the hardest worker you would ever meet. He could always find some work that needed to be done in the 18 acres his beloved Pap-Paw once owned. He loved taking his son, Blake, fishing and hunting and introducing him to the outdoors that he loved. For Brett, to be stuck inside was punishment. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Brett was a devoted and adoring husband, never failing to tell his wife how much he loved her. He was a dedicated and loving father and the ultimate playmate to his son. Brett also took great pride in being an Uncle. Just the day before he passed, he spent hours building boats from tree bark and floating them down the river with Blake and his cousins. At every family gathering, the cousins knew they could count on Uncle Brett for some solid play time. Brett was the best brother and the kind of son you dream of. He was the favorite. Everyone knew it, but no one could blame anyone for favoring him, because they favored him as well.

When thinking of all those that will miss Brett, someone said, "everyone that knew him." Those words couldn't be more true. If you were lucky enough to get to know him, you loved him. He was humble, kind, loyal, hardworking, devoted, and truly one of a kind. It's impossible to put into words what Brett meant to those who loved him, but maybe that's fitting. Brett was never one for many words.

Brett was born on August 22, 1984 to Tom and Rhonda Curtis in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, Heather Curtis, his son, Blake Curtis, his parents Tom Curtis and Rhonda Curtis, his brother Brad Curtis and wife Brittney, his sister Allissa Sims and husband Greg, his special cousin JoAnn "Punkie" Greenlee and husband Jared, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Granny and Pap-Paw, Bill and Margie Bruning, and his Grandpa, Leonard Curtis.

A visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Flippin. Funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Aaron Lindsey officiating.
