Calvin Wade Brown, 92, of Benton, AR passed away on March 23, 2021. He was born November 2, 1928 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Lillian Brown, his brother, Lloyd Brown, his wife of 54 years, Nadia Joyce Brown, and granddaughter, Tammy Brown Horner. He is survived by Betty Parker Brown, sister in law Judy Brown, and his children Timothy Wayne Brown, Sr. (Esther) of Bella Vista, Phillip Brown (Cissy) of Hot Springs, Rebecca Brown, Kathy Henson (Terry), Ava Brown-Courtney (Scott) of Benton; grandchildren, Tim Brown, Jr. (Kristal), April Rye (Phillip), Melody Pettit (David), Alex Harrell, Katelyn Alford (Dustin); and great grandchildren Bethany Bloch (Chris), Olivia Petree (George), Moriah Lerma (Gabe), Tim Brown, III, Abrah Brown, Monica Brown, Jessica Brown, Jeremiah Lepley, Madison Rye, Savannah Rye, Dylan Pettit (Grace), Addison Pettit, Brylie Alford, Wade Harrell, Haze Burkhalter, and great great granddaughter, Maribella Lerma.

Calvin's careers were varied; he began as a dairyman, then an independent oil jobber, cattleman, real estate broker, and business owner (Rocket Oil, Chief Gasoline Stations, Brown's Trailer Sales). He served on many civic and advisory boards. Calvin played the organ, accordion, and piano and as a teenager traveled locally with a gospel quartet. He had a passion for church missions that took him to India, Mexico, Australia, and all over the United States. This caused him to have a deep concern for our freedom and a strong military defense. He was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church and attended West Bauxite Baptist with his wife, Betty, the last 19 years. He enjoyed traveling, Gaither concerts around the country, and reading biographies. Calvin loved gathering his family at his home for holidays and birthday celebrations where there were always lively discussions about current events.

The family would like to thank Kristi and her staff at Pleasant Hill Senior Services for their personal and compassionate care. The family also appreciates Arkansas Hospice for the support and dignity they provided in his final days. The family would like to express their gratitude to right hand helpers, Nancy Byars and Ron Brockway, through the years.

Bro. Kim Hammer will be officiating a public graveside service at Pinecrest Memorial Park Tuesday March 30 at 11:00am.
