Cuong "Handsome" Chi Ly

of Forrest City, AR

December 1, 2020

Cuong Chi Ly, affectionately known as ''Handsome'', 58, of Forrest City, AR, passed away on December 1st, 2020 after bravely battling COVID-19.
Handsome was born in Vietnam and lived in the US for over 40 years.
For Handsome, enhancing the beauty of others was his life's passion, as well as one of his many talents. After graduating from high school, he took his artistic sensibilities and skills and became a licensed cosmetologist. For the next four decades, Handsome was a master of his craft who dedicated his career to beautifying the appearance of the many clients who sat in his salon chair. But most importantly, people left feeling happy, rejuvenated, and renewed in their self-confidence.
Handsome was devoted to his clients but he also deeply cherished his family and friends. He was tremendously generous, open, and kind to his loved ones. Always loyal and quick to lend a helping hand, Handsome was a loving and exemplary son, brother, and uncle. Siblings will remember him fondly not only for his family-oriented disposition but also his cheeky sense of humor and fun-loving nature; his nieces and nephews will never forget his genuine affection for them or his awe-inspiring exuberance for life.
Handsome was also a fabulous and hospitable cook. Family gatherings were occasions not only to bond with each other but also opportunities to enjoy his deft culinary expertise. Banh xeo, a savory crepe dish filled with shrimp and herbs, was one of his specialties. Those who were lucky to share his table left with happy, full bellies and delicious leftovers carefully wrapped by him for the journey home.
Handsome inspired others to spread joy, to be giving and loving, but also to be fearlessly, unapologetically themselves. He had an excellent eye for design and was well-known for his dynamic sense of style: bright sunglasses, unusual-colored blazers, funny accessories, and goofy hats were his trademark, worn to please himself but also to brighten someone's day and bring a smile.
A happy and funny man, Handsome had a character that was all his own. In addition, he had an unquestionably tender, loving care for animals. His vibrant personality, affection for his family and friends, and a unique sense of style were rivaled only by his great love for his dog, Beautiful, who he adored with all his heart.
Handsome is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his beloved dog, Beautiful, and his memory is forever held in the hearts of his sister, brothers, nieces, and nephews. We deeply love and miss you.
