Ross Alfred Gallant

of Cord, AR

December 16, 1960 - March 18, 2021

Ross Alfred Gallant, 60, of Cord, Arkansas passed away March 18, 2021.

He was born December 16, 1960 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Alfred D. and Evelyn Jean (Turnipseed) Gallant.

Ross was a kind, big hearted man who loved life. If you ever met him you know how he made everyone feel like they were his best friend. No one got away from him without hearing a joke.

He graduated from Nettleton High School in 1979. In college he played basketball at SBC in 1981, Arkansas College, and later graduated from ASU in 1984. He would tell you he was the best player in the south and even won JUCO player of the year in 1981.

After graduating Ross took over the family business, Gallant Equipment Co., from his father Alfred. He eventually sold the business to Jordan's. He continued giving that same Gallant work ethic to Jordan's for five years.

If you ever had a question about sports Ross had an answer. He loved watching his boys play, and tried to never miss a game. Even after his boys graduated he continued supporting the local teams.

Ross was a family man. He always said when he got his wife and kids that he hit the lottery. Then he got his grand babies and he said he got lucky enough to hit the lottery twice. Those girls were his pride and joy.

Survivors include his wife, whom he married June 17, 2004, Tammy (Strecker) Gallant of the home; three sons, Hunter Gallant (Haley) of Batesville, Justin Gallant (Ashley) of Batesville, and Chance Gallant of Sacramento, California; one brother, Cloyce Miller (Kaye) of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters, Janet Shropshire (Dwane) of Groesbeck, Texas, and Jennifer Gallant of North Little Rock; two grandchildren, Heidi and Hattie Gallant, as well as several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers are Jackie McClure, Leonard Davis, Paul McDonald, Brad Griffin, Greg Shropshire, Donnie Wright, Sonny Campbell, Steven Vaughn, and Eric Schultz. Honorary pallbearer is Riley Caraway.
