Donald Floyd Cooper, 86, of Batesville passed away Friday, February 26, 2021.

He was born October 10, 1934 in Trent, Texas to Floyd Mitchell Cooper and Mattie (Horton) Cooper.

Donald was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his early years Donald attended the University of Texas in El Paso, where he also played football as a receiver. He loved his family and spending time with them especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he also enjoyed genealogy and folk music.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Joan (Richards) Cooper, of the home; daughter, Sherri Christian of San Diego, California; three sons, David (Heather) Cooper and Robert (Beth) Christian both of Batesville, and Daniel Cooper of Los Angeles, California;; brother, Leroy (Ellen) Cooper of Burleson, Texas; sister, Pat Mann of Corvallis, Oregon; brother-in-law, Charles Richards of Batesville; thirteen grandchildren, Renee Tyler, Brandon Tyler, Cori Finnie, Drew Christian, Megan Chandler, Jessica Smith, Michael Swanson, Melanie Martin, Colby Cooper, Theodore Cooper, Sydney Cooper, Samuel Cooper, Maggie Christian; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Cooper; and daughter, Jeanene Vanderpool.

A memorial service will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
