Leda Modene Steen, age 94 of Harrison, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, February 5th, 2021 at Hillcrest Home in Harrison, Arkansas. She was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on February 16th, 1926 to Ernest Delbert McInturff and Roxie Elefair Mason McInturff.

In her earlier years Modene was a school teacher and taught at Witts Springs and Snowball schools. She went on to work at Cicero Bible Press and later Spring Arbor for many years until her retirement at the age of 71. Modene enjoyed gardening and reading. She loved travelling, especially her yearly trip to California to visit with her family. Her wisdom and advice will be greatly missed by those closest to her.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Schutte (Dennis) of Harrison; grandchildren, Misty Boyd (Kyle) of Harrison and James Greenhaw (Shelly) of Harrison; great-granddaughter, Brooke Boyd of Harrison; brother, Keith McInturff of Harrison; sister, Carol Choate, also of Harrison; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family who will also mourn her passing.

Modene is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Roxie McInturff; her husband Willie Joe Steen who passed away in 1975; and siblings, Devoy McInturff, Leroy McInturff, John B. McInturff, Ernestine Hogue, Wanda McInturff, Shirley McInturff and Lena Smith.

Graveside services for Modene will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 10th, 2021 at Dongola Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas where Modene will be laid to rest beside her husband, Willie Joe Steen. Jackie Smithson will officiate the service. An open visitation will be held 8:00 till 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas for all who would like to stop by and pay their respects. Honorary bearers will be Mike Smith, Randy Smith, Ronnie Hogue, Donnie Choate and Jeffery Choate.

Roller-Coffman Funeral Home is complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines for COVID-19 and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance to 2/3 capacity at one time.
