Jim Hathcoat, age 91, of Harrison, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021. He was born January 25, 1929, in Harrison, the son of Martin Leslie and Birtie Lee (Roberts) Hathcoat. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, Marianne Pyeatte Hathcoat; his brother, Les Hathcoat; and his sister, Shirley Lou Hathcoat.

Except for a few years spent in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jim was a lifelong resident of Harrison. He loved everyone and he was overly fair and generous to all who knew him and dealt with him. Jim worked his whole life on his farm. He loved all of his many animals, but his favorite was his horses. He showed many of his horses at horse shows and raced some in Oklahoma.

Survivors include his sisters, Wanda Carner and Mary Ann Stephen; his sister-in-law, Peggy Hathcoat; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be sorely missed by his family and his many friends.


Visitation was Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Graveside service was Friday, January 29, 2021, at Brittain Cemetery.
