of Crawfordsville, AR
August 31, 1945 - January 9, 2021
On the 31st day of the 8th month in 1945 Jimmy Louis VanVickle was born in Keiser, AR to Vernon and Edna VanVickle. He married Gloria Ann Barnes on January 16, 1967 in Joiner, AR. He and Ann have loved each other and been just a testament to all their children on what true love and family is and should always be.
Jimmy was taught to be honest and hard working by parents. As an adult he managed Wallace Farms in Crawfordsville, AR for 47 years. He had the fortune of not only working for, but working with his best friend David Wallace.
Ann and Jimmy have five children, Preston Parker of West Memphis, AR, Jammie Burrows (Mike) of Proctor, AR, Kellie VanVickle of Crawfordsville, AR, Christi Cupples (Jared) of Crawfordsville, AR, and Shelli Conlee (Johnny) of Crawfordsville, AR. They also have 14 grandchildren. Jimmy was always happiest when he had all his ''chaps'' around him.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, sister Jo Gray of Selmer, TN, brother Bruce VanVickle of Anahuac, TX, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Edna VanVickle and his sister Peggy Lloyd (Walter).
The family tried to write something that summarized his life. Many descriptions come to mind such as loving, loyal, extremely funny, a prankster, and the list could go on forever, but the words that best describe Jimmy VanVickle are, ''never a dull moment''. He will be missed by family, friends, and his community.
Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will be following guidelines issued by the Arkansas Department of Health and the CDC regarding COVID-19. Social distancing of at least six feet must be practiced and all funeral attendees must provide and wear their own mask.
