Daphne Elizabeth (Ransom) Osam

of Little Rock, AR

November 10, 1971 - January 1, 2021

Daphne Elizabeth (Ransom) Osam of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 1, 2021 surrounded by family, best friend, and her beloved cats: Wuzzy, Flash, Itty Bitty, Princess Piglet, and dog: Scout. She was born on November 10, 1971 in Little Rock, AR to Ike Ransom and Daphne Webster. She proudly followed in her father's footsteps with a successful career in the global spirits business. She was respected and loved by the many people she interacted with as the Arkansas State Manager for Beam Suntory. Preceding her career in spirits, she had been a kindergarten teacher at the Anthony School in Little Rock, where she was 'Teacher of the Year' for the state of Arkansas on the local news.

She was passionate about her family, friends, and all animals. She was a caring and generous person who always helped any friend in need. She was a donating member of the ASPCA. Not only the animals she cared for and rescued but those close to her knew her as ''Snow White.'' She supported many causes close to her heart such as The Arkansas Cinema Society that reflected her love of reading and film. She believed in empowering other women and was a proud sponsor for Women to Watch.

Most importantly she inspired others with her strength and courage. She was ''Ransom Tough'' and a fighter full of grace.

Liz and her husband, Neil Osam, were married in August and she was a guiding light to his two boys, Evan and Owen. They all shared a love of life, a passion for movies, compassion for animals, and a guiding principle to 'never, ever give up'. Her love and fighting spirit has helped shape them to the wonderful boys they are today and will live on with them.

Liz wanted to express her appreciation for her physicians and staff at CARTI, UAMS, and the nurses at Hospice Home Care, namely Dr. Diane Wilder and Dr. Issam Makouhl. She was referred to as 'their little miracle' during her almost 4 years of care.

Please send any donations in her honor to CARTI Foundation (https://carti.ejoinme.org/donate) and the Pulaski County Humane Society (https://warmhearts.org/memorial-gifts/ ). There is also a link on her Facebook page to donate to the CARTI Foundation.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ike Porter Ransom; her mother, Daphne Loyd Ransom; her brother Lucien Anderson Loyd. She is survived by her husband, Neil Osam; sons Evan Merritt (11) and Owen Terry Osam (8); brother W.B.(Donna) Loyd and sister Cathy Clearman, 5 nieces, 4 nephews, and a host of great nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private ceremony, accounting for COVID guidelines. There will also be a larger Celebration of Life as she requested once guidelines allow.
