Janet Martha Poole, 84, of Madison Heights, MI, passed away in the early morning of November 23, 2020, at the home of her daughter Carrie Killgore, in West Memphis, Arkansas.
She was born to the late Stanley and Evelyn Irish, August 19, 1936, in Royal Oak, Michigan.
She married the late Thomas Clark Poole on September 4, 1954, and they lived together in Madison Heights for over sixty years. Janet is survived by her sister Joan (Ron) Hoffman of Pleasant Lake, MI ; her brother Dean (Dianne) Irish of Owosso, MI; four children: Carrie (Edgar) Killgore, of West Memphis, AR; Michael (Peggy) Poole, of Gloucester, VA; Mark (Wendi) Poole, of Shelby Township, MI; and Scott (Angelica) Poole of Voorhees, NJ. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Janet was predeceased by a daughter Wendy Jo in 1959 and her loving husband in 2015.

Janet was a loving and nurturing stay at home mom until her kids were grown, then she joined her husband in running the family Tool & Die business in Troy MI, until their retirement. Janet had a love of nature and animals, she was mom to her dog ''Muggins'' and her guinea pig ''Weasel'' at her passing. She also had a love of music, a vast collection of albums and cd's which she listened to regularly. Her taste was eclectic, from Neil Diamond, the Carpenters, Mama's and the Papa's to Aerosmith, Bob Seger and Jimmy Buffet. She passed her appreciation of music to all her children, and over the past couple of years attended the last Neil Diamond Concert with her daughter Carrie, and a Jimmy Buffet concert with her son Scott. Janet was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Even as her health was declining, she managed to take a trip Israel, it was the highlight of her travels, she spoke often of visiting the Holy Land, and wished she could go back again someday.
A private memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date, at the United Methodist Church in Madison Heights, MI. The family requests that anyone wishing to make donations to do so in support of breast cancer research, St Jude Children's Research Hospital, or your local animal shelter, in lieu of sending flowers.
