Vern was a district manager for the local newspaper in San Francisco, CA and worked in the Casino's in Reno, NV.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Laverne Earle and Louise Eckhardt, SR; his wife Lila Eckhardt; one son, Robert (Bob) Eckhardt; two brothers and two sisters.

Vern is survived by his children Theodore ''Ted'' and Connie Bolander of Clarksville, AR; Lisa Bolander of Reno, NV; Dyane Bolander of Reno, NV; Doug Franklin of Reno, NV; Brian Bolander of Reno, NV; numerous grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
