Naomi "Sis" Jean Smith

of Jonesboro, AR

Naomi Jean "Sis" Smith, 87, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at her home. She was born January 30, 1933 in Egypt, AR to Ralph R. and Ruth Gertrude (Cook) Jones. She worked at Frolic Footwear until she retired and loved camping, fishing and most of all, being with her grandkids. She attended New Life Fellowship Church.

Sis was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Hubert Smith; three sons, Robert Ray McGinnis, Ralph Edward McGinnis and Billy Lee McGinnis; and a brother, Ray Jones.

Those left behind to cherish Sis' memory include two daughters, Karen Dianne (Tommy) Brown and Shirley Ann (Matthew) Hines; seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Bernice Tate, Phyllis Saffel and Sue Fetters.

Chapel services will be 2 pm Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Sharron K. Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Markum Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 pm until time of service. The body will be lying in repose from 11 am until 1 pm for those who are unable to attend the service.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance while observing social distancing guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear masks upon entering and while in the building.
