James "Junior" Earl Baker JRI am a Veteran.

of Pangburn, AR

March 20, 1934 - September 28, 2020

James Earl Baker, Jr was the seventh child born to James Earl Baker, Sr. and Clara Marsh Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Elmer Baker and four sisters, Lola Vernon, Genevie Baker, Mozelle Marsh and Bobbie Baker. He was blessed and survived by the love and companionship of a devoted wife, Charlsie, and loving sons, Jimmy Baker (Carlin) of North Little Rock, David Baker and Ronn Baker (Stephany) of Pangburn, two faithful grandchildren, which were the loves of his life, Emilee Baker of Scott, Arkansas and Zach Baker of Pangburn. He is also survived by one sister, Patsy Baker of Pangburn, nephew Jerry Vernon (Linda), nieces Carol Jones (Don) and Darliss Treat (Cleve) all of Pangburn.

Jr. Baker was born March 20, 1934 and departed this earth on September 28, 2020. He was allowed 86 years to enjoy family and friends. He graduated Pangburn High School where he was a skilled athlete. His fellow classmates would remember him as a leader in the classroom as well as on the court. He was affectionately given the nickname Studie. After graduation he served two years in the United States Army, doing most of his tenure in Germany.

Jr. and Charlsie were married on December 31, 1958 and he always maintained that he was the blessed one of the couple. They were devoted to each other for sixty-two years. They raised three boys as they worked and worshiped together. No matter where or how far away, Jr. called Pangburn home. He was a member of the Pangburn City Council, a charter member of the Pangburn Volunteer Fire Department and a mason.

Having a strong work ethic, Jr. worked hard, was fair, friendly and practical which are all characteristics necessary in business as well as life. He and Charlsie owned and operated Baker's Grocery Store from 1978-1981. He was a respected business man in the community. The friendliness, fairness and welcoming smiles grew a business. He valued his customers and over the years became lifelong friends. Later he became a truck driver, delivering in and out of state, ending his career by retiring as a dispatcher with the City of Searcy.

As a humble man of faith, Jr. put others before himself. He was a dedicated member of the Pangburn First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday-School teacher, and youth leader.

The life of James Earl Baker, Jr. will be remembered as a cherished husband, beloved and respected father and Papa.
