Debbie Gammill

of Mountain View, AR

September 25, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Deborah Darlene Gammill announces her sudden passing on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the age of 59. She was born in Harrison, Arkansas on August 4th, 1961 to William Lavell Yancey and Billie Fowler Yancey.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David Gammill of 28 years, and her son, Yancey Gammill of Mountain View; mother, Billie Yancey of St.Joe; brother, Stan Yancey and his wife Christene of Everton; brother, Denton Yancey of St.Joe; and sister, Melanie Kyle and her husband Jeremy of West Fork, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, numerous relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Yancey; grandparents, Rovell and Mary Yancey; grandparents, Melvin and Madge Fowler; her uncle Robert Fowler; and her mother and father-in-law, Gene and Hazel Gammill.

Debbie was a proud mother, devoted wife, lover of family, and someone who realized the potential in others. She was a big sports fan! She loved watching Yancey play any kind of sport and was always ready to give a Hog Call and support the Arkansas Razorbacks. Deb always had a story to tell, a joke to pull, and a beautiful smile and laugh that filled the room. She was an avid reader and hair twirler. She enjoyed travel and had a goal of visiting each state; throughout the years she made it to many of them. She also traveled to Niagra Falls in Canada and to Guatemala. Throughout the years, Debbie supported community and youth as a 4-H Leader and an AWANA Leader where she taught children at church. Debbie earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a Masters certificate in public service from the State of Arkansas. She worked for the Department of Human Services for 34 1/2 years; this was her first and last job. She had several positions, from caseworker, to advisor, to supervisor. Debbie was a Christian woman, wife, and mother. She believed in God 100[%]. She helped lead her son, Yancey, to Christ and ensure his salvation. We rejoice in knowing that she's in heaven with her dad, grandparents, uncle, and in-laws.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 29 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Roller Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm.
