Flo Ann Shannon

of Greenbriar, AR

February 7, 1951 - September 7, 2020

Flo Ann (Driggers) Shannon passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at her home in Greenbrier, Arkansas; her daughters were by her side. She was 69 years old. She was born in Morrilton on February 7, 1951 to Wilburn & Gracie Driggers. She was the third born in a family of four children: Wilburn Driggers Jr., the first born, Rilla Driggers Shannon, her only sister, & Mickey Driggers her baby brother who all have preceded her in death.

She started working in ministry at an early age. When the doors of the church were open, Flo was there even holding state offices in the Church of God of Prophecy denomination as a teen.

She met Robert Henry Shannon when they were children attending the Church of God of Prophecy congregation in Morrilton. They fell in love & married on September 16, 1972. They were married 47 years until his death last year. Robert & Flo have two daughters, Christina (Christy) Shannon & Rachel Mitchum. She has five grandchildren: Audrey Mae Mitchum, Everly Faith Mitchum, twins Jordan & Isaiah Mitchum & another grandson due in January. She has one son-in-law, Justin Mitchum, whom she loved. She was also the aunt to a niece and several nephews she loved very much.

She earned an LPN license from Petit Jean Vo-Tech & worked in the nursing field for 35 years comforting countless men & women with her love & care. She treated every patient as important & expected the same of the staff working under her. She always believed that she would give an account to the Lord for those under her care.

In 1995, she attended Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma & became a licensed & ordained minister. She spent the next 25 years doing one-on-one prayer ministry helping others walk in inner freedom & healing. Mama Flo is the name she earned with so many people many of which were her age. Flo Shannon was the epitome of love. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was a powerful prayer warrior and a woman who loved Jesus with all her heart. She craved the presence of God and sought Him every day. There are so many people whose lives were touched because of the impact she had on them for Jesus.
