Patsy Ruth Burch Cannon, 93, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2020. She was born in Wewoka, OK to the late Laura Collins Burch and T.E. Burch.

Patsy graduated from Harding College in 1949 and earned her Master's in Library Science from George Peabody College (now part of Vanderbilt University) in Nashville, TN in 1950. She served on the faculty at Harding College as a librarian from 1950-1954.

In 1954 she married Troy Cannon, who preceded her in death after 31 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lillian O'Neal and her brother Curtis Burch. Troy and Patsy had three daughters; Susan Cannon Edmonds, Kathleen Cannon Straker and Elizabeth (Beth) Cannon Musick. Patsy is also survived by one grandson, Troy Austin Treece; niece, Norma O'Neal McGinty; nephew, Tip Burch and many other family and friends.

A librarian by training and a life-long-learner by disposition, Patsy enjoyed learning calligraphy, swimming, computers and traveling. She loved all living things and befriended not only people, but also gave a forever-home to many animals over the years (primarily cats and dogs, but also a gecko, fish and a bird).

At the time of her passing, Patsy was a member of the Westside Church of Christ. A service of remembrance will be held at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home on September 5th. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00, The service begins at 2:00 p.m.
