Lonnie J. RichardsonI am a Veteran.

of Mountain View, AR

September 12, 1917 - August 29, 2020

Lonnie James Richardson, age 102, went to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, August 29th in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty. Lonnie is survived by his son, Darrell Richardson, son-in-law Michael Goins, five grandchildren, Brant Richardson and wife Amanda, Jeremy Goins, Jamie Goins and wife Heather all of Mountain View. Daniel Richardson of Jacksonville, Florida and Jennifer Brinkman and husband Grant of Billings, Montana. He also had 9 great grandchildren. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents John and Nancy (Sutton) Richardson, his former wives, Annie Richardson and Dora Richardson, one daughter, Patsy Goins, and one grandson, Kurt Richardson, one brother, Lotha Richardson, and seven sisters, Sarah Cates, Zadie Allcorn, Ada White, Bessie Bufford, Ethel Taylor, Dessie Tuttle, and Rosie Payton. He leaves behind a whole host of family and friends.

Lonnie James Richardson was his given name, but daddy, dad, gramps, grandpa, pappie Lonnie, Mr. Lonnie, and Uncle Lonnie were more his style. He was a hero to the old, middle age, and especially the young. He taught us how to shoot a gun, drive a truck, break a horse, hide a doe, and how to make a good trade. He made the best trade of his life one Saturday morning when he traded in his 102 year old body for a brand new one and his trailer house for a heavenly mansion. The stories he told and the adventures he took us on made him a legend in our eyes. Later, as we told his stories he became a legend to all who heard; from him and his brother cutting the handles off a plow so Lonnie could plow behind a horse at 10 years old to climbing a palm tree to defend his platoon against an enemy advance in WWII. The legacy he leaves is an honest, hardworking, family man, who loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved his family, his country, and the Signal Hill Community.
