Larry Shannon, 79, of Clinton, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on August 9, 2020. He was born October 6, 1940 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Dewell and Essie Shannon.

Larry proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army and retired in 1983 with a combined 26 years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran and for his service there he received the Bronze Star Medal for "meritorious achievement against hostile forces." Following his retirement from the military, he became a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service where he also retired after many years of dedicated service.

Preceding Larry in death are his parents, Dewell and Essie Shannon; sister, Sandra McKnight and wife, Marti' Shannon.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, Brett Shannon and wife Deanna of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandson Nathan; Mark Shannon and wife Kim of East End, Arkansas; grandchildren: Ashley and Jeremy; great-grandchildren: Bryce, Jax, Tatum and Cooper; daughter, Lisa Young and husband Perry of Trumann, Arkansas; grandson, Chase Young; great-granddaughter, Lylah Young; brother, Duane Shannon and wife Wanda of Clinton, Arkansas; five nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends who loved Larry and will miss him greatly.

The family will hold a Memorial Service Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance to 66 percent of facility capacity at one time.
All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.
