Judy Faye Haley

of Yellville, AR

January 1, 1948 - June 26, 2020

Judy was born and raised in Newton, Mississippi. She was married to Tom Mitchell. They were parents to three children. After losing Tom to cancer she continued her life as a single mother. When she met her second husband, Lee Haley, she moved to Greenville, Mississippi.

During her life she had many occupations. She was a nurse aide at a nursing home. She owned a balloon and flower shop called Mr. Charlies. She ran a chicken farm. She was also a seamstress and a hair dresser.

She loved to play violin and was an avid quilter. She as an amazing shooter and loved to hunt. She was very proud of the fact that she took down a wild boar while hunting in Texas. For the better part of 30 years she was a mentor and advocate for women in all stages of recovery. She helped countless women to get back on their feet.

Judy was a member of The Eastern Star and the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion.

Judy fought a 3 1/2 year battle against lung cancer with dignity and grace. ''I may have cancer, but cancer will never have me.''

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Lum Jacobs, her sister Linda Jacobs, and her brother Mark Jacobs. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Tom Mitchell, her daughter Lisa Mitchell Kersh, and her grandson Selby Cronen.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lee Haley, her mother Lillie Pearl Jacobs, her sister Paula Monk (Kenny), her son David Mitchell (Linda), her son Jason Mitchell (Nikki), and daughter Linsey Weiser (Gerry), her granddaughters: Danielle Bonner, Lisa Bonner, Bethany Brady, Hannah Mitchell, Brittany Charlton (Jonathan), Brianna Callahan (Matthew), Baileigh Mitchell, Amber Weiser, and Christina Haley, her grandson Jason Weiser. She leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Instead of flowers the family asks you donate to St. Jude, The American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice in her honor.
