John V. Sturdy, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed into his greater life on the morning of May 11, 2020. He was born October 5, 1933 to David Sturdy and Zelda May Foster Sturdy in Pea Ridge, Arkansas.

John was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He served in the Arkansas National Guard as an Accountant for 41 years, retiring as Master Sergeant. He was a Volunteer Fireman with Sylvan Hills Fire Department.

He enjoyed working on his cars and traveling anywhere, especially in his vintage airstream camper. He is primarily known as a follower of Jesus and a devoted family man, generous to all with his time, his love and his resources. He worshiped at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Lou; son, John D. Sturdy and daughter, Mary Lou Fromm.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Stanley and husband, Bill, of Marked Tree, Arkansas; two sons, Rick Sturdy and wife, Mary, of Hayes, Kansas; Phil Sturdy and wife, Susan of Lamar, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Cindy Sturdy of Conway, Arkansas; son-in-law, Gary Fromm of Sherwood, Arkansas; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 12PM on Thursday, May 14 at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.
