Gwendolyn B. Childers, 97, of Rose Bud passed away at her home on April 2, 2020. Gwen was born on October 19, 1922 to the late Leonard Lincoln and Sara Ruth Mercer Parrish in Rose Bud, Arkansas. Mrs. Childers was a homemaker and an entrepreneur with her husband Junior on many business ventures. Junior and Gwen were married 64 years at the time of his death in 2006.

Gwen and Junior were founding members of Rose Bud Baptist Church and she has attended there for over 70 years and was very active in her church. She played the piano for services for over 48 years. During her years of business she ran a restaurant and made the best hamburgers in Rose Bud. She worked with Junior in all of their businesses throughout their married life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Manley ''Junior'' Childers, one great-granddaughter Alicia Marie Childers and one sister Thelma Evans.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Childers of Rose Bud, Arkansas, her son, Gary Layne (Diana) Childers of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandsons, Ricky Dale Childers, Robert Mitchell (Susie) Childers, SR both of Watagua, Texas, Shayne Marcus (Gena) Childers of Hurst, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Sherie Nicole, Robert Mitchell, JR, Christopher Lance and Cody Childers all of Texas and one great great-grandson, Colton Childers along with other extended family members and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be announced.
