Bill L. Thompson, 83, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born June 18, 1936, in Springdale, Arkansas, to Henry Archibald and Christle (Featherston) Thompson.

Bill worked as the owner/operator of the first pharmacy in Salem, Arkansas, and for twenty-five years as the chief pharmacist for George Jackson Mental Health Center/Mid-South Health Systems. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lion's Club, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and Elk Lodge, and was proud to serve in the United States Army National Guard. He enjoyed golfing, beekeeping, gardening, painting, wine and beer making, and attending bible study and church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gene Henry Thompson and Paul J. Thompson.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty-two years, Joyce Moore Thompson; son, Cary Lance (Stacy) Thompson; daughter, Joy Lynn Thompson; grandchildren, Becky Lynn (Jeremy) Wilson and Jared Lance (Liz) Thompson; great grandchildren, Lyla Lynn Wilson and Jeremy Thomas Wilson, Jr.; brother, Jack L. (Rumi) Thompson, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Vicki A. (Bill) Baab, of Dallas, Texas; sisters-in-law, Glenna Thompson and Georgia Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and chosen family.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tim Leslie, Terry Kerr, James Turley, Bill Goins, John Miles, and Patty Soward.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home and services will be announced at a later date.
