Gary Dean Weaver

of Vici, OK

July 16, 1966 - October 29, 2019

Gary Dean Weaver, 53, of Vici, Oklahoma formerly of Wichita, Kansas passed away quietly during an early fall morning on October 29, 2019 at Onia, Arkansas overlooking a peaceful meadow of beautiful fall colors. Gary cherished his childhood memories of summers spent being surrounded by family in Arkansas. Gary was born on July 16, 1966 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Dale and Patsy (Gammill) Weaver.

Gary lived a rich and engaging life filled with many friends and family. He had a generous heart, always willing to help. He loved to travel and see the world; he was quick to persuade you to join him in his adventurous travel plan. Gary's passions included fishing on Lake Okeechobee in Florida, canoeing the Buffalo (or about anywhere he could sneak a canoe into), sitting around a campfire and star gazing. Gary loved the ocean and sampling the local foods from each new area that he would visit. He enjoyed sightseeing, and his many trips to see the world where he would often collect a new medallion for his walking stick, which was more of a conversation piece than a walking aid. One of his greatest thrills in life was watching his daughter, Jordan race; out of that he made lifelong friends in the race community that he kept in contact with on a regular basis. Gary loved tinkering in the shop, taking something apart to see how it worked and ending up with extra parts was a common occurrence. Gary had a knack for being able to fix most anything, there isn't anything he wouldn't tackle and typically figure it out when no one else could. He drew his vast knowledge of woodworking and construction to complete many projects for friends and family.

Gary taught us that our life should be unselfish, brave, and hardworking. Those who knew Gary were a witness to a courageous and inspiring battle against cancer. He was a fearless warrior and pushed past every life expectancy that the doctors placed upon him. Gary was happiest when he was surrounded by his friends and family, he loved having everyone gathered around him at family events and celebrations sharing love and togetherness.

Gary is survived by his loving companion Beverly and her children; his daughter, Jordan and companion Sean and their son, Kane, who was the light of Gary's life; three brothers, Jeff Weaver and wife Shelly, Ron Weaver and companion Ray, and his twin brother, Larry Weaver; Steven Gammill and wife Paula, whom Gary thought of as a brother; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends that Gary had forged over the years.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Patsy Weaver.

There will be a viewing where family will receive friends on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas.
