Robert Henry Shannon

of Greenbrier, AR

March 27, 1948 - September 28, 2019

''Another Ol' Pipeliner, Done Drug Up''

Robert Henry Shannon of Greenbrier, Arkansas (originally Morrilton, Arkansas), changed his address one last time to heaven on September 28th, 2019 at 8:23 am, after a strong and courageous fight with colon cancer. He was born March 27th, 1948 to Oliver and Faye (Parks) Shannon. He was the third of four sons, often referred to as Butch.

He married the love of his life and childhood sweetheart on September 16th, 1972. They embraced a beautiful life together for 47 years which included two daughters, a son-in-law, and four grandchildren. Robert was a pipeline welder by trade for 49 years, beginning his career with his two eldest brothers, Fletcher & Kenneth. The Lord called him into the ministry in 1992. Robert was a graduate of Victory Bible Institute and a licensed and ordained minister who loved every moment of working in the ministry. Robert & Flo carried on Shannon Ministries and loved people from all walks of life for 26 years. His wife and daughter will continue on the ministry in his absence.
Robert's love for Jesus was evident by everyone whom he came into contact with. He enjoyed studying the Word & telling others the multiple stories of when God saved his life or spoke to him specifically. He was a man of outstanding strength and vigor, both physically and spiritually. Robert had a wonderful, sometimes aggravating, sense of humor and an ability to make things work that seemed impossible. His daughters would say his impact on them was profound. Tender hearted towards his girls, he was an incredible father who always put his family first regardless of circumstance. Robert loved to crawl down onto the floor & play with his granddaughters. He viewed his son-in-law as a special blessing, the son he never had, and a fulfillment of the hopes and prayers he had made for his daughter.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Thomas Shannon and Ellen Faye Parks, twin grandchildren; Jordan and Isaiah Mitchum, In-laws Wilburn and Gracie Driggers, sister-in-law, Rilla Driggers Shannon and brother-in-law, Wilburn Driggers, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Flo Ann Shannon, two daughters; Christina Shannon also of Greenbrier, Rachel and Justin Mitchum of Higden, two granddaughters; Audrey and Everly Mitchum, three brothers; Fletcher and Ola Shannon of Atkins, Arkansas, Kenneth and Margaret Shannon of Brighton, Colorado, (of whom he was very close and worked with for many years), Larry Shannon of Conway, Arkansas, and several nephews & one niece.
