Jimmy ''Tadpole'' Darrell Deatherage, 71, of Timbo, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at White River Healthcare in Calico Rock, Arkansas. He was born September 13, 1947 in Batesville, Arkansas to the late Walter V. and Ora Lea (Haney) Deatherage. Jimmy served his country as a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church. Jimmy worked as a farmer most of his life and will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Jimmy graduated Timbo High School in 1965, and worked at various jobs until he entered the U.S. Army where he served from 1967-69. During deployment to Viet Nam he served with 1st Calvary, and was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for wounds suffered in combat. Jimmy spent several months recovery in army hospitals in the Philippines and Japan. After being discharged from the hospital, he was assigned the duty of General's Aide to General Boatwright and spent the remainder of his service time in Germany.

Upon his return to civilian life, Jimmy met Glenda Harris. They were married October 22, 1970. They had two children; daughter, Tamara Michelle (Tammy) and son, Tommy.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Glenda (Harris) Deatherage; one daughter Tammy Deatherage; aunt Ola Mae Farris; brothers and sister-in-law, Bennie and Lavel Harris, David and Ann Campbell, Larry Harris and many extended family and friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Walter V. and Ora Lea (Haney) Deatherage; and his son Tommy Deatherage.

Visitation is Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Timbo Valley Assembly of God Church in Timbo, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM with Brother David Campbell and Brother Junior Barham officiating. Interment will be at Alco Cemetery in Alco, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Daryl Campbell, Wes Campbell, Jerry Smith, Richard Harris, Russell Harris, and Steve Wilson.

Military honors provided by Stone County Honor Guard.

Roller Coffman Funeral in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
