Jim Herring,79, of Conway, passed away at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer on September 28, 2018. He was born March 24, 1939 in Ventura, CA to Meldrum Edwin and Mary Lee Herring. Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Dan Herring and his parents.

He was a lifelong educator that earned many awards including Arkansas Educator of the Year. After his retirement, he devoted his life to teaching Bible studies and helping people with severe health problems.

Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Paulette Herring, son, Randy L Herring, brothers, Bill E.(Doris) Herring and Bob (Linda) Herring, sister, Corliss (Eugene) Padgett, sister-in-law, Jacque Herring and many other friends and relatives

The family wishes to thank the following: Dr. Gary Bowman, Dr. Sue Tsuda, Dr. Meek, Dr. Altan, and Jackie, Lynn, Regina, Jessica, and Sara of Hospice.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 2:00PM at Antioch Baptist Church, Conway. Visitation will be on October 3, 2018 from 6PM to 8PM at Roller McNutt Funeral Home. Burial in Old Liberty Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Baptist College. Jim was a graduate of CBC, and the first inductee in their Sports Hall of Fame.
