Betty Ruth Johnson Laman

of Cave City, AR

April 27, 1929 - August 30, 2018

Betty Ruth Johnson Laman, 89, of Cave City, AR, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 in her home in Cave City. Born in Cave City, AR, she was the daughter of Edward ''Ed'' Johnson and Mattie Cole Johnson.

Betty was a graduate of Cave City High School. She was a homemaker, but more importantly she was a loving and selfless woman who devoted her life to serving her family. Many of her children's friends have commented that Betty always welcomed them into her home. This is the same today. Betty's home is the center of her family and friends where everyone comes together and always feels welcome.

For years, Betty bravely took her grandsons on trips, which included a yearly trip to Branson. This special time helped build strong relationships with her grandsons, something she felt was vital. These grandsons gave her 6 beautiful great grandchildren, her most prized possessions. Betty looked forward to family gatherings and weekly visits from everyone so she could see the blessings that are her great grandkids.

Besides her love for her family, Betty had a great devotion to her friends. She felt a personal responsibility to take care of those who were dear to her. Even though she couldn't get out of her home in the later years, she would call and check on her friends and offer them words of encouragement and love.
She was a lifelong member of the Cave City First United Methodist Church where she faithfully attended until her health prevented. But even then, she never lost interest in her church family whom she loved so dearly.

Betty is a genuine friend and Matriarch. She will be greatly missed by all.
