Jean Hazell Bown, 78, of Maumelle, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at her home.

Born on August 19, 1927, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Edward and Lillie Hazell, Jean retired from the Arkansas Workmen's Compensation Commission in 2001, and has served as a volunteer at St. Vincent's Hospital in North Little Rock.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William F. Bown; four children: Pamela M. Bown Zendt (husband Jack) of Washington, MI, Kenneth E. Bown (wife Mary) of Maumelle, AR, Douglas F. Bown (wife Jane) of Roland, AR, Susan H. Bown Wilkinson (husband Mike) of Conway, AR; ten grandchildren: David B. Melby (wife Deborah) of Harrison Twp., MI, Scott L. Melby (wife Kelly) of Fenton, MI, Keith L. Bown of Memphis, TN, Marlene N. Pownall (husband Thomas) of N. Little Rock, AR, Leslie A. Bown of St. Louis, MO, Sarah E. Bown of Roland, Stephanie P. Bown of Roland, Natalie J. Wilkinson Rose (husband Reggie) of Conway, Beth E. Wilkinson Reed (husband Neal) of Conway, Megan S. Wilkinson of Conway; and seven great grandchildren: Bryan D. Melby, Curtis W. Melby, Kortney M. Melby, Cale D. Burke, William M. Rose, Christopher S. Melby, and Jensen L. Melby.

Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with Pastor Neal Winstead officiating.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
