John Wayne Keown passed away on July 1, 2016 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 67. He was born March 29, 1949 to Dennis Horace Keown and Maxine Swan Keown.

John Wayne is survived by his wife Diann Henry Keown, of Marianna, Arkansas; two sons, Andy Keown (Elaine), Matt W. Keown (Christy) all of Marianna, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Tyler McGranahan, Klint Keown, Jonathan Keown, Jessica Keown, Katie Morris (Johnathon), Kylee Keown, one great-grandchild, Adison Morton; mother, Maxine Keown, of Marianna, Arkansas; one sister, Brenda Cheney, of Redfield, Arkansas; one brother, Dale ''Potchie'' Keown (Sharon), of Mayflower, Arkansas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and brother-in-law, William D. ''Dubby'' Henry (Chantay).

He was preceded in death by his father, and his God parents, John and Mary Doyel.


John Wayne had been a farmer for over fifty years. He was an avid hunter whether it was deer, ducks or hogs. He was a loving husband to his wife Diann of over fifty years. He was a wonderful father to his sons, Andy and Matt. He loved his Katie Bug and Kylee Bear. His niece Sam held a special place in his heart because of her love of farming they shared. He was a friend to many and a leader in his community. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church.

Services for Mr. John Wayne Keown will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Harvest Land Church in Moro, Arkansas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. also at Harvest Land Church. Burial will be held at Marianna Memorial Park in Marianna, Arkansas.
