James Roy Eason

October 30, 1924 - December 18, 2015

Mr. James Roy Eason, 91, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 at NEA Baptist Hospital. Mr. Eason was born in Jonesboro, October 30, 1924 to Earl and Bessie Greenhall Eason.

James was retired from Riceland Food. He was a lifetime resident of Jonesboro and a member of Prospect Baptist Church. James had a great love for babies and children.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Ray, Joe, Charles and Bobby Eason; three sisters, Syble Gnade, Lucy Barrett and Nadine Griffin.

Survivors include a sister, Earlene Lumley of Dyersburg, Tennessee; niece, Mary (Gary) Gipson and many other nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Sunday at 3:00pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Lingenfelter, Marvin Tate, Michael Book and Gary Gipson officiating. Honored to be pallbearers are Terry Greer, Earl Lumley, Robert Lumley, Tim Gnade, Keith Westbrook and Robert Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Cabe, Neil Stoker, Andy Griffin, Harold Summers, Jerry Coleman and the men of Prospect Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Ransome Cemetery.

Visitation will precede the service from 2:00 3:00pm Sunday at the funeral home.
