Velma Dean Rodriguez, age 57, of Everton, Arkansas, was born January 7, 1958, in McNary, Arizona, the daughter of Albert E. and Imogene M. (Thomas) Boring. She attended school in McNary and Show Low, Arizona.

Velma began her adult life in New York where started her family and worked in the VA Medical Center. After returning to Arizona, she met the love of her life and soul mate, Jose' Rodriguez. Once they were married and began their life together, they moved to Texas and New Mexico. They then returned to Arizona. Velma enjoyed crocheting and quilts and loved to listen to David and Jamie sing.

To continue their adventuresome and loving life together, Val and Jose' moved to Arkansas to await the first snow. After 23 amazing years with the man of her dreams, Velma was called to her Heavenly home on Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14, 2015.

Velma is survived by her loving husband, Jose' Rodriguez, of the home; her children, William Robert "Billy" Lockwood, Sandra M. (Lockwood) Rubio, Albert W. Lockwood, Felisha Allen, Kimberly R. Allen, Jamie E. Valenzuela and David J. Valenzuela; her siblings, Josephine P. (Boring) Moomey, Richard E. Boring, Thelma J. Boring and A. Michael Boring; and a host of other family and friends.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, William C. Boring and David E. Boring.



Visitation was held Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints.

Funeral service was Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Norman Jenkins presiding.

Interment was in Western Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jack Moomey, Daryld Lee Pottorff, Ryan Cook, Daryld Gene Pottorff, Donathan Souders, Albert Lockwood and Aaron Boring.

Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Boring, David Valenzuela, and Mike Boring.
