Stephen Shumate, age 59, of North Little Rock, passed away, peacefully, on Sunday, October 19th, surrounded by his family. He was born in Orlando, Florida on March 4, 1955 to the late John C. and Eva Corrine Shumate.

Steve was caring and generous, and all who knew him will never forget him. He loved to laugh, make others laugh, and he always had something witty to say or a good corny joke to share. He loved his family, and there was a sparkle in his eye whenever he was with them. His grandchildren adored their 'Pop Pop,' and he loved spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tim Shumate. He is survived by his brother, Richard Shumate and wife, Bonnie, of Portland, OR, his sister, Nancy Bonner, of Sherwood Shores, TX, his sister, Rebecca Cavendar and husband, Lowell, of Fayetteville, AR, his daughter, Amber German and husband, Robert, of North Little Rock, AR, his son, Corey Shumate and wife, Emily, of Conway, AR, his two grandchildren, Jack and Gracie, and many other family and friends who will miss him dearly. Although death has taken his body, and the Lord has taken his soul, his spirit cannot be taken and will remain ours forever.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, Oct 23rd, at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Roller McNutt Funeral Home.
