Helen "Dixie" Alliston Bowen, 94, of Harrisburg, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born April 12, 1920 in Bono to the late Jacob Eli and Anna Mary Toy Trevathan. Dixie worked for Sears for many years in the credit and audit departments, and also as a sales associate. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ.

Dixie is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, William Alliston and Elmer Bowen; seven brother and seven sisters.

Survivors include a son, William "Bill" Alliston of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Mary Don Leonard of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Chapel services will be 2 pm Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro. Visitation will begin at 1 pm until the time of service. Dave Leonard and Rich Leonard will officiate. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Glen Leonard, Rich Leonard, Dave Leonard, Nathan Alliston, Keith Whitman and Duane McElroy will serve as pallbearers.

Howard Nelson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
