Nellie Mae Tackett, age 84, of Marshall, Arkansas, passed from this life Wednesday, May 07, 2014 at Highland Court Rehabilitation and Resident Care Facility in Marshall, Arkansas. She was born May 17, 1929 in Wadena, Iowa, to parents John Henry and Leona (Zuercher) Curtis. She married Odus Tackett on September 25, 1947.

Nellie was an avid reader and she loved to work word puzzles. She enjoyed making quilts. Also, she enjoyed canning food from the garden. She never met a stranger, just a friend she didn't know. She Loved to play BINGO at Highland Court and won often. She was a caring person who would always welcome everyone into their home. She was of Pentecostal faith and shared her faith with all she met. How she lived her life is her testimony.

Survivors are: children: James (Anna) Tackett, Barbara Reddell, Betty (Robin) Wade, Peggy (Norman) Hunter, and Odus (Val) Tackett, Jr.; siblings: Mary Riley of Iowa, June Biehn of Iowa, John Curtis of Iowa; brother-in-law Bob Miller of Iowa; grandchildren: Rebecca Tackett, Wesley (Tara) Barron from Texas, Paul Barron, Whitney Odessa Barron, Dakoda Hunter, HayLeigh Hunter, Joe Dacanay, Toby Dacanay, Nina Harrell, Norman (Lisa) Hunter Jr,, Stepanie Eaton, Steven (Sandra) Hunter, Tonya (Bobby) Hunter; great grandchildren: James Robert (Storm) Bailey, Derek Austin Bailey, Amber Lynn (Jacob) Derringer, Caitlyn, Hannah and Madison Dacanay, Jareb and Heather Harrell, CJ and Kaycia Gelino, Leslie and Karen Wood, and Makayla Kohler; great-great grandchildren: Sarah, Colt, Lily, and Elena Bailey and Levi Derringer; two aunts: Elsie Ball of Illinois and Zana Cooper of Iowa. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will also mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Nellie Mae Tackett will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Roller Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas, with Bros. Carl Mize and Garvin Gene Reid officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 8:00 PM Monday. Burial will be in Cypert Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Norman Hunter, Jr., Bob Bounds, Robin Wade, Lenny Tackett, T.J. Tackett, Ed Wade, Ronald Ragland, Dewayne Bryant, Cleo Dye, Troy Dye and Robby Bailey. Honorary pallbearers are: Staff and residents at Highland Court; Doctors and staff at Boston Mountain Rural Clinic; Derek Bailey; Dr. Bill Mears; and the BINGO Ladies at Highland Court.
