Lake City Virginia Doris Craig, 80, of Lake City, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at her home.
She was born May 8, 1933, to the late James Roscoe Hall, Sr. and the late Virtise Doak Hall in Brookland. She was a long time member of Lake City First Assembly of God Church, where she was active in women's ministry for many years.
She graduated from Lake City High School in 1952 and from the Arkansas State Teachers College in 1955 with a BSE in Home Economics. She received a MSE in Home Economics from the University of Central Arkansas in 1986 and Specialists in Community College Teaching from Arkansas State University in 1988.
Mrs. Craig was a retired teacher having taught at Hardy (Home Economics), Dixie (Home Economics/Biology), Knoble (English/History), Lake City/Riverside (Science/Home Economics), and Ridgefield Christian School (second grade).
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gerald E. Craig; four daughters, Susan (John) Utley of Osceola, IN, Debora (Erik) Brown of Fort Worth, TX, Elizabeth (David) Paschall of Big Sandy, TN, and Rebekah Craig of the home; four grandchildren, Joanna (Robert) Fredere, Jonathan Utley, Joshua Utley, and Vera Brown; one brother, James R. (Juanita) Hall, Jr. of Jonesboro, AR.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Lake City First Assembly of God Church, 1312 Fourth Street, with Rev. John Utley and Rev. Robert Fredere, III officiating. Burial will be in Pine Log Cemetery with Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W. Washington Avenue in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers will be Erik Brown, Gerald Eaker, Gary Metz, David Paschall, Jonathan Utley, and Joshua Utley.
