June 30, 1927 - August 16, 2013

Thelma Cissell, 86, of Joiner, Arkansas, died, Friday August 16, 2013 at St. Bernard's Hospice in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mrs. Cissell was born June 30, 1927 in Cullman, Alabama to the late Ruben Rufus and Odis Stevens Hill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jordan Cissell, and one daughter in law, Becky Cissell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Joiner Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Doris Williams and her husband John, of Scranton, Arkansas, Melba Shoemake and her husband Speedy, of Osceola, Arkansas, Sandy Burnett and her husband Jim of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three sons, Joseph Cissell of Joiner, Arkansas, Don Cissell of Joiner, Arkansas, and Phillip Cissell and his wife Claire, of Memphis, Tennessee. Twelve grandchildren: David, Kelly, Channon, Todd, Kyle, Kyndra, Krystal, Wade, Mary Ellen, Jake, Matt, and Jordan-Claire; Sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Sisters, Ann Kemp, Pat Fussell, and Donna Waters, brothers; Tommy Hill and Lowell Hill all of Auburndale, Florida. She is also survived by her sister's in law; Elizabeth Cissell, Ann Bechell, and Alice Cissell; her cat Tilly and her friend Vivian Harston, of Joiner, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held Sunday August 18, 2013 from 5:00 till 7:00 at Roller-Citizens. Services will be held in the chapel Monday August 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM by Reverend Jim Duffel, interment will follow at Bassett Cemetery, Bassett, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Joiner Baptist Church 101 Main Street, Joiner, Arkansas 72350.
