Mrs. Betty S. Bower, age 76 of Clarkridge passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her residence. Betty Bower was born May 13, 1937 in Atlanta, Georgia to James William Simmons, Sr. and Marjorie Magnolia (Bloodworth) Simmons. She married Bishop Woods Bower on August 5, 1954 in West Point, Georgia. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, painting, and cooking. She was a member of the Stone Creek Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Georgia.

Mrs. Betty S. Bower is survived by her husband, Bishop Woods. Bower of Clarkridge, one son, Bishop William Bower of Arkansas, one daughter, Betty Wanda McNeely of Mississippi, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and 3 sisters.

Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
