Mrs. Ollie A. Mathis, age 93, of Marshall, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, March 09, 2013 at Highland Court Rehabilitation and Resident Care Facility in Marshall. She was born in Bear Creek, Arkansas on March 09, 1920 to Edward and Nora (Hinkle) Yancey.
Ollie was a homemaker and had worked for several years at the Flintrock Shirt Factory. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Ollie was a good wife and loving mother. She loved her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for them and everyone agreed that she was a great cook. She enjoyed playing pitch and bingo.
Ollie was preceded in death by her husband, Silvester Mathis, who she married on January 14th, 1939; one son, Jack Mathis; and one daughter, Frances Nora Lee Mathis.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Silver and husband Bill of Harrison; one son, Eddie H. Mathis and wife Shirley of Winsfield, MO; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Jewel McClung of Leslie.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Mathis will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Roller Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Donnie Horton officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM on Monday, March 11, 2013 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Terry Mathis, Eric Silver, Todd Silver, Chris Silver, Robert Mathis and Kevin Mathis. Honorary pallbearers are Homer Mathis, Melvin Mathis, Larry DeRousse, Gorman Cooper, Marty Johnson and Rick Butler.
