Mr. Jerry Lynn Parnell, age 65 of Norfork passed away at his home on Sunday, December 2, 2012. He was born July 26, 1947 in Norfork, AR to Joe &Theola Casey Parnell. Jerry married Allene Davis on May 16, 1970 and lived in Norfork their entire 42 years of marriage.
Jerry served 19 years as a deputy & water patrol for the sheriff's office. He also was a security guard & water superintendent for Briarcliff , served on the Norfork School Board & drove a school bus. He was on the Norfork Fire Dept. & served on the City Council. Jerry spent most of his adult life serving his community & having a conversation with everyone he met.
Survivors include his wife Allene Parnell of Norfork, one daughter, Twana Parnell Devors & husband Mike Devors of Norfork, one grandson, Jeremy Devors of Norfork, 2 brothers, Everett Parnell and Sylvester Parnelland, a sister Maxine Langston, and a host of nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Lynn, a brother, Joe Dean and his parents.
Visitation will be from 12 until 7 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-7 PM. A graveside funeral service, conducted by Pastor Larry Thomas will be held 11 AM Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Galatia Cemetery in Norfork with Law Enforcement Honors provided by the Baxter County Sheriff 's Department. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Langston, Eddie Langston, Joey Langston, Brad Parnell, Ronnie May and Eric Faulkner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Devors, Everett Parnell, Sylvester Parnell, Robert Southard, Larry Woody, Virgil Wilbur and Jackie Baker.
