Michael Patrick Askew, 56, of Mountain View, Arkansas died September 7, 2012 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 24, 1956 in Sacramento, California, the son of Elmer Burdette Askew and Mary Louise Freday. He was baptized and confirmed on March 7, 1969 at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus, Georgia. He was married in November 1993 to Gala Pennington.
Mike enjoyed reading, Bible study, music, riding motorcycles, and most of all being with his boys.

Survivors include his sons, Harley Jordan Askew and Jacob Burdette Askew; stepmother, Janet Askew of Adair, Iowa; and many other friends and relatives.

Preceding him in death was his father Elmer Burdette Askew.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, 7:00-9:00PM at the Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Brother Paul Lancaster will officiate.
