Nita Gaye "Jones" Nichols, aged 69, of Jonesboro, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at her home. She was born August 21, 1942 at Jonesboro to Floyd and Ina Sullivan Jones. Mrs. Nichols worked many years in the banking industry and was currently employed at Arkansas Glass Container Company. She was a member of the Bono Church of Christ and loved the outdoors, to hunt and fish, and being with her grandson and doing things with him.

Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Yvonne Gambill.

Survivors include a son, Cary Nichols and his wife Stephanie, of Jonesboro; a grandson, Kyle Nichols of Jonesboro; a step-granddaughter, Reiley Smith of Jonesboro; a brother, Donald Jones of Bono and a sister, Rita McQuay of Jonesboro.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 am Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro with funeral services following at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Richard Akins will officiate. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park.
