Gloria N. Beaver, age 83, of Maumelle, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 24, 2012. She was born on January 3, 1929 in Luther, Iowa. She worked several years as an elementary school teacher. She then spent a few years as a homemaker raising six children before returning to the medical profession as a Registered Nurse for approximately fifteen years. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Ernest Spencer and Elna Augusta Erickson Spencer and her daughter, Greta Duckworth. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Earl S. Beaver of Maumelle; three sons, Nathan and wife, Beverly Beaver of Little Rock, Ned S. and wife, Gayla Beaver of Maumelle, and Neal D. and wife, Leah Beaver of Okinawa, Japan; two daughters, Priscilla Beaver Lipsmeyer of Grants, New Mexico and Ida Grissom and husband, Bill of Youngsville, Louisiana; fifteen grand-children; and one sister, Jacqueline Swoyer of Greenfield, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Riverwood Memorial Gardens, with the Reverend Kevin Robbins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501)224-8300.
