John Calvin (J.C.) Henson, age 90, of Little Rock passed away on Monday, November 28, 2011. He was born in Mayflower, Arkansas on Monday, April 4, 1921, to the late John and Etta (Starr) Henson. He joined the army at 18 and served for four years with a highlight of his military career being that he led the first convoy across the Al-Can Alaskan Highway in 1943. He retired from the family's Exxon Station, in Wakefield Village, after 20 years. He and his wife of 43 years, Freda, attended the 65th Street Church of Christ. In addition to his parents and his wife he is preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel Glover, Betty McMahan, Grace Duke and Maureen Henson.
J.C. is survived by his son, Jim Henson and his wife Brenda of Little Rock; two granddaughters, Summer Henson-Conger and husband Scott of San Diego, California and Christy Vodehnal and husband Tyler of Little Rock, and many caring nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
J.C. will always be remembered for his great reputation.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, in Conway. J.C.'s funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011, in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
