Ethel Matlock, age 95, of Harrison, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. Ethel was born on January 1, 1916, in Harrison, the daughter of A. C. and Mettie (Holt) Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Norma Fitchue; her grandson, Douglas Fitchue; her sister, Eva Roberts; and her brother, Paul Roberts.

Ethel was a member of the Woodland Heights Baptist Church. She loved sewing and her grandchildren. She had been president of the Ridgeway PTA and a member of the Shady Grove HDC for fifty years, half those years as president.

Ethel Matlock is survived by her daughter, Wilma "Dood" Fitchue; her stepsons, Johnny Matlock, Charles Matlock, Gerald Matlock and Stanley Matlock; and her brothers, Orville Roberts and Shorty Roberts.

Ethel is also survived by four grandchildren, Brad Fitchue, Rocky Fitchue, Carol Miller and Perry Fitchue; six great-grandchildren, Chelsea Fitchu8e, Kendall Fitchue, Bentley Fitchue, Reece Fitchue, Kodi Miller and Bayli Miller; and a host of other family and many dear friends throughout the community.

Visitation was Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral service was Friday, January 28, 2011, at Maplewood Cemetery, with Bill Arnold officiating.

Ethel's grandsons served as pallbearers.
