Ruby Lee James Asquith, 92, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Ruby was born April 3, 1918 to the late Lee and Ella Mae McElroy James in Holland, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Asquith; sister, Floretta Mogridge; brother, Jerrell James; and her "Best friend" son-in-law, Bruce Junkin, MD.

Ruby was a member of Lakewood United Methodist. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Asquith and wife Sharon, of San Antonio, TX, and Jay Asquith and wife Dee, of North Little Rock; two daughters, Carolyn Junkin of Newport and Judy Thompson and husband Mike, of Sherwood; step-daughter, Anita Ashby and husband Larry, of Dallas, TX;
Grandchildren, CDR Jon Junkin, DDS and wife Alison, Joe Pat Junkin and wife Sally Anne, Todd Taylor and wife Rikki, Laura Abbott and husband Matt, Benjamin Asquith, Ariel Asquith, Marlee Asquith, Chad Strandlien and wife Kelly and Danielle Strandlien, RN; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Ruby's family would like to extend special thanks to all her caretakers, including the staff at Lakewood Nursing Home and Baptist Medical Center, Springhill.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400).
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Little Rock National Cemetery.
