Edna E. Bacon

Edna E. Bacon, age 96, of Bergman, Arkansas, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Hillcrest Home in Harrison. She was born January 15, 1914, in Warrick County, Indiana, the daughter of Sula May Toole. Mrs. Bacon was preceded in death by the father of her children, Earl Bacon; a daughter, Nina Rae Pemberton; a son, Paul M. Bacon; an infant son; her sister, Ruth Dougan; and her brother, L. B. Toole.

Edna was raised by her grandparents, F. M. and Sarah Matilda Toole, in southern Indiana and moved to Arkansas in 1953. She enjoyed her independence; driving a Datsun; working in her yard and with her flowers; enjoyed a glass of cold iced tea; Planters Cheese Balls; hush puppies and A & W Root Beer. Edna worked as a grocery check-out clerk for Scott's 7-11, Karbe's, and Piggly-Wiggly. Edna and Earl created and managed Full Service Title Company.

Edna Bacon is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Yu-Yen Bacon, of Norman, Oklahoma; her daughter, Louise Villines, of Diamond City, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Memorial service was Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Rev. Mitchell Rains officiating.

Visitation immediately followed the Memorial service at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Garrison Chapel Cemetery near Tennyson, Indiana, which is a mile from where Edna was born, at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Hills Hospice House, American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
