Blaine H. Ward

of Marshall, AR

Blaine H. Ward left for his journey home surrounded by his family on July 6, 2010. Blaine was born January 28, 1931, on Hilltop in Marshall, Arkansas. He lived in California and Indiana, finally moving back to Arkansas in 1974. He loved his home place on Hilltop in the Cannan Community of Searcy County. He loved his garden, hunting, fishing, bluegrass music, construction and his family. His road through life took many turns and had many hills but he always knew where his roots were and always came back to them.

Blaine was the son of the late James Harvey and Olevia (Griffin) Ward. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Christine (Collins) Ward, three sons, Keith Ward and wife Linda of Vilonia, AR, Mike Ward of Marshall, Randy Ward of Atlanta Georgia, two daughters Deniece (Ward) Matthews of Clinton, AR and Debbie (Ward) Penny and husband Steve Penny of Conway, AR.
He has four grandsons, James Ward of Conway, AR, Bryan Collins of Azle, TX, Royce Collins of Scotland, AR, and Heith Collins of Montgomery, TX. He has five granddaughters, Kimberly (Penny) Lyons of Conway, AR, Stephanie Penny of Conway, AR, Tarah (Penny) Buckner of Durham, North Carolina, Ashley (Ward) Rutherford of Murfreesboro, AR, Michal Ward of Conway, AR. and eighteen great-grand children.
Four sisters, Violet Stout, Morene Ragland, Leota McQuaine, Laura and husband Charles Ragland and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and acquaintances, also survive Blaine.

Four brothers, Palmer Ward, Blake Ward, Kenneth Ward and Eddie Ward and one sister Hazel Ward, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers will be John Eaton, Keith Eaton, Steve Wilson, Roy Young, Billy Young and Lindy Alsobrooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Baker, Ruby Horn, George Treat, George Daniel, Mike Tuell, Scotty Tumbleson, Sharon Smalls, Dr. Bobby Arhens, nurse Cindy Collins and "Red" his dog.

Funeral services will be held at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., with Bro. Shane Horton and Bro. Donnie Horton officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 9, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Coffman with his burial at Marshall Memorial Garden next to East Lawn Cemetery in Marshall Arkansas. All friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Blaine's life.
