Phyllis was born December 5, 1923, in Beloit, Wisconsin, to Jennie (Wheeler) Larkin and George Larkin. She was the youngest of 5 children. She married Clyde Eugene Frederick on January 18, 1947 in Harrison, Arkansas, where they lived together for over 50 years, raising their 2 children, Jenni Frederick and Pam Henry. After being widowed she met and married Robert Vinyard and they shared 7 years together, enjoying Phyllis' 7 grand children and 11 great grand kids.

Phyllis was very community oriented being a member of the Bergman PTA from the late 50's through the 60's. She helped form the Bergman 4-H club, and enjoyed her Neighborhood Birthday club for many years. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 50 + years, and volunteered as a Pink Lady at NARMC for many years working in the ER area and crocheting hundreds of pairs of booties and hats for the newborns there, and went every Tuesday to Hilltop Nursing Center where she visited with the residents, playing bingo and providing snacks and hundreds of stuffed toys.

She was a member of the Lord of the Lake Lutheran Church and the Bergman United Methodist Church where she truly loved the fellowship with her church families.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, both of her husbands, and countless friends and extended family members.

She was survived by her daughter Jenni Frederick, daughter Pam Henry and son-in-law Dick Henry, grandchildren: Michael White and family, Denni Wicker and her husband Robert, Alicia Shearhart and her husband Tony and their children Haven, Alex, and Zach, Ashton McGraw his wife Stella and their children Johnny, James and Jenna. Jolene Harris and her husband Joey and son Jeremiah, Heather Henry and adopted granddaughter Rita Tilley.

Memorial service was held at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 10, 2010.
