Bryan Taylor

of Everton, AR

March 21, 1923 - July 28, 2009

Bryan Taylor, age 86, of Everton, Arkansas, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at his home. He was born March 21, 1923, in Everton, the son of Lee and Bevie (Swafford) Taylor. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Junior Taylor.

Bryan served his country as a Signalman Striker and radio operator on aircraft carrier USS Barnes in the Asiatic Pacific area between 1944 and 1946. He remained a true American patriot throughout his life. He grew up having fun playing in the woods and swimming in Marshall Branch. He graduated the 12th grade from Everton School. During his later school years, Bryan played baseball for the Everton School Team, The Sandpipers, and also played guitar in the school band. Carpentry was Bryan's chosen profession, with farming taking up much of his remaining spare time.

Bryan's favorite pastime from early childhood to later in life was fox hunting. He had many friends both young and old that fox hunted with him until his health prevented him from enjoying the sport. Deer and quail hunting along with camping and fishing with family and friends were other activities he enjoyed until his health declined.

As with any grandfather, Bryan loved his grandchildren, Justin Lora, Eva and Jeffrey, and great-granddaughter, Lindsey. He was looking forward to his second great-grandchild that would be born to Lora in December. As Bryan became more homebound, he enjoyed word search puzzles, his remove control to watch Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Daniel Boone and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. It seems strange to see an empty chair in the corner of the living room where Daddy sat. Bryan Taylor is survived by his wife, Eva (Armer) Taylor, of the home; his daughters and sons-in-law, Marla and Larry Keithley and Kathleen and Robert Guynn, all of Everton, and Billie Jo and Pat Horn of Kansas City, Missouri; and his brother, Kenneth Taylor, of Yakima, Washington.

Bryan is also survived by six grandchildren, Justin Keithley, Lora Meschkat, Eva Slawson, Jeffrey Baughman, Rickey Horn and Patrick Horn; his great-grandchild, Lindsey Keithley; and a host of other family and friends throughout the community. He will truly be missed.
